Teaser Tuesday (Feb. 19)
(Isn't he just so gorgeous?! Okay, sorry. Just had to get that out of the way. Btw that is one of my all-time favorite quotes!)
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Firelight by Sophie Jordan
~My Teaser #1: "Fortunately, Mrs. Hennessy hasn't mentioned Will's visits, and I don't think she will. Somehow we've formed an alliance."
~Teaser #2: "The leather squeaks beneath him as he shifts in his seat. "The way I feel about you, Jacinda . . . I know you feel it, too.""
A hidden truth.
Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki, a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping awayif it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.
On a completely different note, I've had Bloodrose in my hands for a little more than a week now and I still haven't finished it. I know, I know. It's unthinkable! To tell the truth, lately, I just haven't been in the mood to read. Which makes me think I might be coming down with that damn flu again. Anyways, I will finish the last book in the Nightshade series and that review will be coming soon! Soooooooonnnnn. Okay, thanks for reading this!)
What did you think of this Teaser Tuesday? ;)
